Verify your Todoist account

You will not need to verify your email address if you've used your Apple, Facebook or Google account to set up your Todoist account.

For security reasons, when you sign up for Todoist we will ask you to verify your email address.

Once you’ve created your Todoist account, you’ll automatically receive an email with a verification link (this link will expire after 24 hours). You can verify your account either by clicking or tapping the Verify email button in the email, or by copy-pasting the link in the email into a browser.

If you can’t find the email, please check that:

  • It hasn’t landed in your spam folder.
  • That you are checking the email you’ve used to set up your Todoist account.

Upon signing up to Todoist, you have 7 days to verify your account. If you do not verify your account within 7 days, you will not be able to access your account. Instead, when you try to log in, you will see an option to re-send a verification email.

Make sure there are no typos in the email address you've used to sign up to Todoist. If you've made a typo, follow these instructions to change your email address.

If there's a typo in your email address and you don't manage to verify your account within 7 days, we won't be able to recover your account for you, unfortunately.

If you still can’t find the verification email (or if the link in your verification email has expired), you can re-send it. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your Todoist account on any platform.
  2. At the bottom of the screen, you will see a pop-up telling you that you need to verify your account. You can trigger a new verification email by clicking or tapping the Re-send option.

If you select the Re-send option several times and end up receiving several verification emails, the verification links in the older emails may have expired, so make sure you use the link in the email you’ve received most recently.

Please contact us. Make sure you contact us with the email address you need to have verified.
